Azazel's Temple, Central Corridor

Prophet's Garden, as encountered in the first part of the Central Corridor stage

Gimmick Walls

Azazel's Temple is the final stage of Scenario Campaign mode in Tekken 6. It takes place in three areas: Central Corridor, Oracle's Chamber, and Prophet's Garden. The bosses in this stage are Kazuya Mishima, Azazel, Alisa Bosconovitch and Jin Kazama.

After defeating Jin, he becomes available for Scenario Campaign and Arena Mode.

Description[]

Azazel's temple exterior

Azazel's Temple exterior, as seen in Zafina's ending.

Stage Description:"An ancient temple located on the edge of an immense desert. The valley which leads to the temple is sealed off by an enormous gate."

Azazel's Temple is hidden within a secret valley. The entrance to the valley is hewn into cliffs and with two enormous front-facing Anubis statues either side of it.[1]

Azazel's Temple is beyond this. A wide stone staircase bordered by Anubis statues lead up pyramid-like steps to a plateau where a wide flat courtyard is found. This is bordered by a wall and winged statues of Horus. The temple here is a series of cuboid buildings with a heavily ornamented portico running along the front and a columned open forum leading up to the steps of the main door. This is the Prophet's Garden. A small wooden palisade separates it from the steps up to the temple.

The main temple is guarded by two enormous inward-facing Anubis statues and sealed with tall double doors that have circular sigils upon them. These can be opened by Zafina's two ceremonial daggers, which can be plunged into hidden crevices. This causes the doors sigils to glow with light and opens the door.[2]

Beyond this is the Central Corridor. This is an interior corridor bordered by decorated columns. On either side of the corridor are still pools of water, and beyond these are enormous seated Ra statues. These are sunken into the water, so that only Ra's bust is above the water. The busts are bird-headed humanoids in armor, with a globe on their heads. They hold a rod in one hand and a two pronged device in their other, between which sits a blue flame. There are enormous stone doors at the end of the corridor, where Kazuya Mishima is fought. These doors also have circular sigils on them like those at the temple entrance.

Beyond this door is the Oracle's Chamber. This is the inner sanctum of the temple. It is much darker than the corridor and lit by blue candles and braziers. The floor is a mosaic of Egyptian patterns filled with eyes. This opens onto a square stone room where Azazel is fought. The room is bordered with enormous Ra bust statues wielding rods and flames, with pits of glowing blue steam erupting from around them.

After defeating Azazel, the player must run back through the collapsing Central Corridor, and then out into the Prophet's Garden again. Here there are the final two boss fights of the stage, first with Alisa Bosconovitch, then with Jin Kazama.

Central Corridor[]

Central Corridor

The Central Corridor stage actually begins in the Prophet's Garden - a large outdoor forum before the main entrance of the temple. This serves as an initial stage, where many G Corporation soldiers and Jacks are fought. Directly behind the player, they will find two wooden crates, one contains a stun drink, and the other a Gatling gun. Once they defeat the first wave of G Corporation soldiers, several Jacks will appear to fight the player. The one that appears from the far right at the beginning of the stage will drop an invulnerability drink, so the player can use it to their advantage. Defeat the final three large Jacks and two G Corporation soldiers to advance to the next area.

Lars Kazuya Central Corridor

The player progresses through the main doorway into the Central Corridor. Kazuya Mishima is the boss at the end of this corridor. The player fights against G corporation soldiers and Jacks, mixed with Claw and Armored men. A quarter of the way through the stage, two soldiers and two Jacks will appear. Once the two Jacks are defeated, they will drop a rage and stun drink. Towards the end of the stage, a Jack, once defeated, will drop bonus experience points. Defeat Kazuya to clear this area. This is also the last time the player will fight G corporation soldiers or Jacks for the remainder of the stage.

Raven's Journal[]

"By the time we reached the temple, the G Corporation's elite forces were stationed out front. This could mean Kazuya Mishima's after the same thing as Jin. Maybe Zafina's legend about the two dark stars wasn't so wrong after all, but the thing about legends is that they aren't a mirror of the future. They're just flimsy predictions, and I know a hell of a lotta ways to disprove predictions. The only ones fit to shape the future is us, who live here in the present."

Alisa's Journal (Bonus)[]

"Kazuya Mishima encountered at temple entrance. Failed to terminate target. Will prioritize request for armaments upgrade."

Oracle's Chamber[]

In the Oracle's Chamber bird-like demonic creatures are fought. They bear a resemblance to gargoyles or Azazel-like humanoids, hinting at Azazel's link to the Devil Gene.

Azazel is encountered at the halfway point in the stage and is the boss of this area.

Raven's Journal[]

"I used to doubt anything having to do with the supernatural, but after what I saw today... Who wouldn't believe in things like gods and demons? What we saw was nothing short of a demon in real form. But I can't let a creature like that live. If an abomination like him can be called the Rectifier, then what's that say about our identity as an organization? We're the only ones who can uphold and protect the power balance of the world."

Alisa's Journal (Bonus)[]

"No pertaining data found on current specimen. Specimen categorized as hostile, and terminated. Damage sustained to internal processes, causing a decrease in performance. All other operations functioning normally."

Prophet's Garden[]

Opened Temple

The Prophet's Garden with opened doors in Zafina's ending

Once Azazel is defeated, the characters run back through the Central Corridor. The temple collapses around them as they run and if a pillar falls on the player, then it is game over. As they run, the player must fight against Tekken Force soldiers, whilst taking care not to be crushed by the falling temple.

The player then reaches the Prophet's Garden again - the outdoor forum before the temple entrance. They face Alisa Bosconovitch here and then Jin Kazama.

Alisa is accompanied by Tekken Force soldiers when she is fought. When Alisa's health bar is at 20%, an alien will appear out of the rubble.

After fighting Alisa, the player faces Jin. Jin fights differently in this stage, as he moves extremely fast, and can shoot a laser out of his forehead that freezes the player. After defeating him, the player will have cleared the entire stage, gaining several points, and completing the Scenario Campaign.

Raven's Journal[]

"The fight was long, but it finally met its end with Jin Kazama being destroyed along with that beast Azazel. Now all that's left is what to do with Alisa. She was an inch away from shutting down permanently. But now that she's back to her senses, Lars isn't letting her out of his sight for a second. Considering their relationship, it may not be a good idea to get on Lars' bad side. I guess this is where we part ways, but even with Azazel's resurrection put to rest, there are still more threats on the horizon. I foresee some busy days up ahead."

Alisa's Journal (Bonus)[]

"New directive acquired by Master Jin Kazama: "After that monster and I are gone, do as you wish." Termination of Master in direct conflict with preexisting directive. When Master was told that I could not accept new directive, Master revealed indecipherable smile. Now shutting down all systems. May you... find...pe...ace..."

Trivia[]

  • Azazel's Temple contains depictions of Egyptian deities, most noticeably, statues of Anubis, god of the afterlife, Ra, god of the sun, and Horus, god of learning, the sky, hunting, and war.
  • It is possible to fight at Prophet's Garden in Arena Mode by playing as Jin Kazama. The stage BGM is changed to "Strike Without Warning".
  • After completing this level, Nightmare Train is automatically unlocked, as well as the difficulty selection.
  • Jin shoots his Devil's Beam without transforming into his devil form similarly to Devil's ability in Tekken 2.
  • When Jin is selected as the playable character in the final boss fight in Scenario Campaign mode, he will fight himself as a boss character. In this case, he will fight his mirror self without his ability as a final boss while his mirror self has one.
  • Beating Scenario Campaign mode with Alisa unlocks additional Alisa's Journals, including ones for this stage which reveals Jin gave Alisa a final directive to "do as [she] wished" once the battle was complete.
  • Depictions of Azazel's Temple are inconsistent between the Tekken 6 console opening, the Scenario Campaign gameplay, and endings set there like Zafina's. Zafina's ending, for example, features an unadorned temple entrance, missing its Anubis statues. The Tekken 6 opening, meanwhile, depicts a cliff valley and a door that directly opens onto an interior, inconsistent with the geography of the temple depicted in either Scenario Campaign or Zafina's ending.
  • The Prophet's Garden features in Jin's Stage in Pachislot Tekken 5 where he faces off against Master Raven.
  • The music heard when fighting within the corridor is the same one used in the Spring Trailer of the game.
