Celebration on the Seine is a stage in Tekken 8. It is the home stage of Victor Chevalier.

Description[]

The stage takes place on the deck of a large luxury boat floating along the river Seine in Paris, France. Beyond the fighting area at the back of the boat, there is a pool surrounded by multiple finely-dressed patrons, with lounge chairs and white and blue umbrellas set around the pool. At the front of the boat, more patrons observe the fight, with orange and white life preservers hanging on the railing separating them from the fighters. Red, blue, and white bows connected by lines of small lights line the railing on either side of the fighting area. Underneath the fighters, the wooden deck has glass-covered openings underneath which multiple swimming fish can be seen. The Eiffel Tower can be seen in the background, lit from the back by the sunset and surrounded by smaller, warmly lit buildings and trees. The boat is moving at the beginning of the fight, but will eventually stop as the fight progresses.

Background Music[]

The BGM is titled "Twilight Party Cruise".

Trivia[]

  • This stage was first revealed in Victor Chevalier's character trailer.[1]
  • Victor can be seen sitting in one of the lounge chairs at the stern of the boat if he is not selected as one of the fighters.
  • This is the second stage in the series to be set in France, the first being Riverside Promenade from Tekken Tag Tournament 2. The Eiffel Tower is visible in the background of both stages.
  • The background will change to the opposite side in Round 2 and 4 on this stage.
  • Fighting near the railing at the front of the boat will cause the patrons viewing the fight to move back, with one character in particular falling from his chair before standing to seat himself again. This will also cause the life preservers to fall from the railing.
  • The bows on the railing around the fighting area can be knocked off by wallsplats, and the lights connecting the bows will also stop working.
  • There is a woman standing at the bow of the boat with her arms outstretched, likely a reference to the pose done by actress Kate Winslet in the 1997 film Titanic.
  • This arena is used as the location of the European B qualification tournament where Emilie de Rochefort won in Tekken 8's Story Mode.[2]
