Dark Thrust (観音砕き Kannon Kudaki?, lit. Guanyin/Kannon Smasher) is a move used by Heihachi Mishima since Tekken Tag Tournament.
Description[]
Heihachi rises up from a crouch by taking a small step to the left, then hitting his opponent with a right backhand.
Usage[]
Despite the appearance of hitting towards the opponent's head, the move actually hits mid, meaning it is effective against a crouching opponent. The initial step gives the move some evasive properties and on counter hit puts the opponent in a state that is vulnerable to a juggle. If this hits an airborne opponent, they will be put into a Screw.
Trivia[]
- This move's Japanese name is a reference to Guanyin/Avalokiteśvara, a famed Bodhisattva in East Asian culture.
- In Tekken Advance, the animation for Dark Thrust is shared with Demon's Boar, likely due to graphical limitations.
