Demon Breath, called Hard Palm Destruction (剛掌破 Kōshōha?) in the Japanese version, is a move used by Heihachi Mishima since Tekken 3 before being given to Reina, Kuma, and Panda in Tekken 8 albeit the latter two under the name Demon Bear Breath.
Description[]
Heihachi knocks down his opponent with a heavy double palm strike while surging with lightning.
Usage[]
The effect on hit varies depending on the game. It would initially cause a crumple that could be comboed after, but, in Tekken Tag Tournament 2, the knockdown was changed to a snapback knockdown with no guaranteed follow-up. By pressing f+2, then immediately pressing 1+2, Heihachi will perform a small spin before executing the Demon Breath, known as the Demon Shout.
In Tekken 7, Heihachi uses the Demon Breath as the final blow of his Rage Art, where he charges the move before hitting his opponent.
In Tekken 8, Kuma and Panda's variant acts as a Heat Engager.

Trivia[]
- The arm movement of Demon Breath resembles that of Ryu's Hadoken from the Street Fighter series but without the fireball, though Ryu actually can perform a non-fireball version of this move in the Street Fighter Alpha games. Also, in both of Heihachi's Rage Arts, it resembles Ryu's Hadoken in his anime appearance in Street Fighter II V.
- A similar animation was used for Lars's Ark Blast, which also has a similar effect on hit.
- If the player hits the opponent with a counter hit or during a chain, the opponent will fly back much farther.
- While the official Namco movelists as well as the in-game displays state that the chain versions end with 1+2, only 1 needs to be pressed.
- The f+2 and 1,2,2 chain enders are called Demon Shout and Demon Executioner respectively. When a Demon Breath is used as a chain ender, the previous move (a backfist) is cancelled. Unlike the former moves, however, a Demon Breath finisher could not be performed after a 2,2 punch/backfist combo until Tekken 5.
- In Tekken 3 and Tekken Tag Tournament, Heihachi will usually perform his "hiyah" kiai, however if the user buffers a right punch attack into a Demon Breath, such as 2~1, f,f+2~1 or b+2~1, he will perform the kiai of the initial move instead, only reverting to the standard Demon Breath kiai if no other sound occurs.
