Double Face Kick, called Whirling Kick (旋蹴り Tsumuji Geri?) in Japan, is a throw which has been around since the first Tekken game, and is a signature throw of Mishima Style Fighting Karate practitioners.
Up to Tekken 3, the move was called Double High Sweep. Starting with Tekken Tag Tournament, it was given a new faster animation and renamed to its current title, but Devil Jin kept the original move and its name. It was demonstrated during the opening of Tekken 4 as Kazuya fought off Tekken Force soldiers after his resurrection at G Corporation.
In Tekken Tag Tournament, if Jin Kazama is teamed up with Kazuya Mishima or Jun Kazama, he will use the original slower version of the move and let out a little chuckle. If Jin is teamed up with any other character the regular Double Face Kick will be used.
Jin Kazama was unable to perform the move in Tekken 4 due to changing his fighting style to Traditional Karate, although he re-acquired it in Tekken 5 and the throw remained part of his moveset in subsequent games.
Description[]
The user grabs their opponent's left wrist then hits them in the back of the head with a right roundhouse kick before swinging their leg the other direction with a heel hook to the jaw while letting go of their wrist so they fall to the ground.
Previous versions[]
In the arcade version of Tekken, Heihachi Mishima could perform this move, however it was replaced with the Neck Breaker in the PlayStation version and subsequent games. In Tekken and Tekken 2, it was one of the most powerful basic throws in the two games, dealing 40 damage. The throw was weakened in Tekken 3, but with both kicks now dealing separate damage: 10 and 20. In Tekken 4, Kazuya's input was changed to f+2+4 due to Tekken 4's universal Position Change being mapped to 1+3.
