G-Clef Cannon is a move used by Michelle Chang, Wang Jinrei, and Kuma since the first Tekken, and Julia Chang, Kuma II, and Panda since Tekken 3. Wang would lose his variant in Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion though the animation of the second and third hits still exist as part of his 10 Hit Combos. In Japanese movelists, Julia, Michelle, and Wang's version of the move is listed as (通天砲?), whereas Kuma and Panda's version of the move is listed as (ベアヘブンキャノン?).
Description[]
The character does a straight left punch followed by a left overhead closed-fist strike followed by a Flash Uppercut.
Usage[]
In Tekken, the move was a guaranteed combo which could not be blocked if any hit connected. In Tekken 2, Wang's and Kuma's f+1,1,1 version was still based on the original game's move and still could not be blocked if the first hit connected. The regular 1,1,1 version, updated for Tekken 2, could now be blocked after the first hit unless it is a counter hit. This was carried over to later games. Interestingly, Kuma's version of the move remained completely unchanged in damage from Tekken 1 through to Tekken 4, whereas the Flash Uppercut for every other character was given higher damage. Wang lost the ability to perform the f+1,1,1 version in Tekken Tag Tournament, as f+1 simply performs his regular 1 punch.
From Tekken 3 until Tekken 4, by holding F for one step, the first punch can cause 6 damage instead of 5 for the delayed G-Clef Cannon (the non-delayed G-Clef is still 10 damage for the first punch). The one step overrides the f+1 input that would otherwise trigger a Flash Uppercut. This only applies to Michelle and Julia, and no longer works as of Tekken 5.
In Tekken 6, this move had slight changes with Julia's left down punch is now quicker and the Flash Uppercut is now replaced with a normal uppercut as the Flash Uppercut is used on her Spinning Kicks variation of moves. This move later applies to Michelle in her appearance in Tekken Tag Tournament 2.
A short version of the move which bypasses the first left punch is named Mini G-Clef Cannon, which does a left down punch and ends with a Flash Uppercut. Kuma and Panda cannot perform this version of the move.
Starting with Tekken 2, another variation of the move exclusive to Michelle and Julia was mixed with Bow and Arrow Kick within both G-Clef Cannon and Mini G-Clef Cannon.
In Tekken 8, the last hit will trigger a Tornado.
