Great Combo (stylized as GREAT Combo) is a game mechanic exclusive to Tekken Tag Tournament and Tekken Tag Tournament 2.
Description[]
Certain tag teams have access to a Great Combo unique to that team. They are performed through a specific series sequences that utilize the Tag button in the first sequence (similar to a Tag Switch). They are indicated by blue sparks that surround the characters when performed, and when the full combo is successfully performed, the announcer shouts: "Great!"; hence the name. Alternatively, while the Announcer may not announce "Great!", there are other special combos for specific teams. The Great Combo is considered as a tag combo, and, in Tekken Tag Tournament 2, will deplete recoverable health unless a Tag Assault was already used.
Great Combos are Secret Moves, and are not listed in the character move lists.
Examples of Great Combos[]
Tekken Tag Tournament[]
- Forest Law and Paul: (Law) f+2-1, 5 > (Paul) 2, 2 > (Law) 1
- Paul's 2, 2 must be inputted immediately upon tagging in otherwise the combo will whiff and end with the Stone Breaker. Paul automatically tags out if the combo is successful.
- Law's final 1 punch must be inputted as soon he lands from his Somersault, otherwise his regular left punch will occur if inputted too early, or the combo will whiff if it's inputted too late.
- Bryan will automatically perform Fisherman's Slam after connecting Right Upper.
Tekken Tag Tournament 2[]
- Law (Forest or Marshall) and Paul: (Law) f+2-1, 5 > (Paul) 2, 2 > (Law) 1

Trivia[]
- Tekken Tag Tournament 2 has an achievement for performing a Great Combo, called "Impressive Moves". The description says: "You pulled off a GREAT combo."
- In Tekken Tag Tournament, if the player initiates a Great Combo using Paul partnered with a character that uses mimicry, Paul will not automatically tag out after 2, 2. If he interacts with the opponent in this manner, they will incorrectly be treated as standing instead of being floated in the air and can even be grabbed.[1]
- Additionally, it is not possible for Law to perform a full Great Combo with a mimicry partner in Tekken Tag Tournament.
- Angel Jin's enhanced Hell's Gate reuses the second half of Jin and Devil Jin's Great Combo.
