Heaven's Door (ヘブンズドア Hevunzu Doa) is a move used by Devil and Angel since Tekken Tag Tournament. Devil Jin has also had this move since Tekken 5.
Kazuya is able to use this move when he transforms into Devil in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Tekken 7. He also uses a more powerful version of it as his Rage Drive that includes the Heaven's Door transition as part of the sequence. Doing this will automatically transform Kazuya into Devil as part of the move. While transformed into Devil, Kazuya has the ability to add Heaven's Door to the Spinning Demon to Left Hook by performing the command during the second hit of the string, with this being known as Abyss Damnation.
In Tekken 7 Season 3, Devil Jin would gain Rakshasa's Rampage to Heaven's Door, which allows him to go into Heaven's Door from the first hit of Rakshasa's Fury. This was not retained after Tekken 7.
In Tekken 8, Kazuya would replace this move with Damnation.
Description[]
Heaven's Door is essentially a continuation of the Dragon Uppercut, where the user grabs the opponent, flies upward, and crashes the opponent into the ground, dealing 15 extra damage to the basic Dragon Uppercut.
From Tekken 5.1 onwards, the second part of the move is considered as an aerial throw and the full string can be done against airborne opponents.
Heaven’s Door also serves as Kazuya’s down special in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
In Tekken 8 as one of the final bosses, Angel Jin also uses this move.
Usage[]
The actual execution of Heaven's Door depends on whether the first part of the move, the Dragon Uppercut, connects with the opponent. Heaven's Door is an excellent alternative to following a successful Dragon Uppercut. Heaven's door is great as a combo finisher after a screw or bound move.
