Mokujin is a wooden training dummy with a single green shoot sprouting from his head in place of hair. In Mokujin's initial appearance, he had shallow, square slots carved into his head in place of eyes. As of Tekken 5, these slots were replaced with orange glowing eyes. Chains hang from his limbs and he has metal spheres in place of hands, while the kanji "正" is carved into his back numerous times. As he does not wear clothing, changes in outfit are marked by slight changes in color and texture while retaining the same general form.
Tekken 3[]
Player 1 outfit:
Mokujin is built of wood with a light brown bark and has a single green shoot bearing two leaves on his head.
Player 2 outfit:
Mokujin takes on a feminine form, with a more curvaceous body, while the shoot on her head is replaced by a branch adorned with a single white flower. This form is constructed from wood with a reddish-brown bark.
- Tekken 3 is the only main-series game in which his eyes do not glow and where the chains on his limbs were attached at both ends.
Tekken Tag Tournament[]
Due to the updated graphics, Mokujin's wooden texture appears more worn and realistic, the color of it changing between each outfit.
Player 1 outfit:
His bark is now a slightly greenish brown.
Player 2 outfit:
Mokujin keeps the feminine look from Tekken 3, but her bark is now in a more natural brown.
Player 3 outfit:
Mokujin's third outfit also has a feminine form, and is built of wood with a flaking silvery-gray color, like that of a birch tree. The flower on her head is recolored pink.
- Mokujin also has a fourth outfit in this game; a metallic palette-swap, Tetsujin.
Tekken 5/Dark Resurrection[]
From this game forward, Mokujin's wooden body now has a smooth, polished appearance.
Player 1 Outfit:
Mokujin retains the look of his Tekken 3 Player 1 outfit, but the chains on his limbs now hang loose and his eyes glow orange.
Player 2 Outfit:
Mokujin has a feminine form, built of silvery-gray wood, while her eyes glow pink and a small dandelion. In this form, the orbs on the end of her arm are colored a much darker blackish color, while the chains hanging from her limbs are heavily rusted.
Tekken 6[]
Player 1 Outfit:
Mokujin's Player 1 outfit is identical to his Tekken 5 Player 1 outfit, except his eyes now glow red instead of orange.
Player 2 Outfit:
Mokujin's Player 2 outfit is identical to the feminine form of the Tekken 5 Player 2 outfit, except the orbs on her arms are now a lighter gray color, better matching her body.
Rather than having full customizable outfits as other characters in Tekken 6 do, Mokujin's customizations consist mainly of differently textured bodies. The metallic bodies come in a variety of different colors, with the gold and silver bodies being reminiscent of Kinjin and Tetsujin respectively, though even with these metallic colors, the bodies still maintain their wood texture underneath rather than appearing smooth.
Tekken Tag Tournament 2[]
Player 1 outfit:

Player 2 outfit:
Mokujin remains unchanged in terms of appearance unlike in the previous games, but he is now made of a silvery-gray wood.
Preset B outfit:
Mokujin's Preset B outfit is a Wii U exclusive Mario series crossover. Mokujin is dressed as Bowser, with a spiked, green shell on his back where each spike has an orange ring around it and the edges and inner portion of the shell are white, a red, spiked haircut with matching red eyebrows, white horns with orange bases at each side of his head, black, spiked bracelets around his wrists and upper arms, and a matching spiked collar around his neck.
- Mokujin's swimsuit DLC is in the same style as the swimsuit worn by Jun; Mokujin wears a bikini top and matching pareo, a type of wraparound skirt, which is available in three different designs - red and white checkered, plain yellow and orange decorated with fruit designs.
- The red and white checkered design could be a play at a gingham picnic table tablecloth, due to Mokujin being made of wood like a traditional picnic table.
- This swimsuit outfit is the only way to play as the feminine Mokujin in Tekken Tag Tournament 2.
