Oni Kick is a move used by Yoshimitsu and Kunimitsu since the first Tekken. It was originally an unnamed basic left kick but was given a name in Tekken 4. It is sometimes called Ballerina Kick.

Since Tekken 6, the move has homing properties, and in Tekken 7 the move triggers a Screw.

Description[]

The user does a spinning roundhouse kick to knock their opponent over. If it connects with a standing opponent, it will send them into a spin. If the first kick connects on a counter hit, the opponent will spin even faster.

From Tekken Tag Tournament onwards, if the first kick connects an airborne opponent, they will also spin in the air with the same speed as a counter hit. Additionally, if the kick is blocked, the opponent will now stagger to the side.

The Oni Kick can be followed up with the Zig Zag kick, however as of Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Kunimitsu no longer has the Zig Zag in her move set.

From Tekken Tag Tournament onwards, Yoshimitsu can follow up an Oni Kick with a Kangaroo Kick. From Tekken 4 onwards, Yoshimitsu can also follow up an Oni Kick with a sweep as the Oni Kick Combo.
