Paul Phoenix is a blue-eyed, blonde-haired American with an iconic tall, flattop hairstyle and a scorpion tattoo on his right arm. Paul has appeared in every game in the Tekken series, and his outfit's have remained unchanged in that time, with the exception of Tekken 4, where he wore a variation of his trademark outfits.

Tekken[]

Player 1 outfit:
His player one outfit consists of a red gi with the sleeves ripped off and a yellow logo on the right side of the jacket. He also wears black hand and foot protectors and a black martial arts belt.

Player 2 outfit:
His player two outfit consists of a black biker jacket with a flaming skull design on the back and black leather pants with flame designs on both sides of the pants. He also wears black fingerless gloves and black boots.

Tekken 2[]

In Tekken 2, Paul receives no new outfits; he wears the same costumes that he wore in the previous game.

Player 1 outfit:

  • This outfit is later seen in Marshall Law's ending.

Player 2 outfit:
(See Tekken Player 2 outfit)

  • In the CGI movies and artwork, he wears a white scarf around his neck.

Tekken 3 []

In Tekken 3, Paul's outfits received minor changes.

Player 1 outfit:
The same as his Player 1 outfit from the first two games, but it is slightly tattered and torn. Also, the yellow logo is on the left side of his jacket.

Player 2 outfit:
The same as his Player 2 outfit from the first two games, but it is now short sleeved with shoulder pads, knee pads and a white high-neck shirt underneath.

Tekken Tag Tournament []

Paul returns with the same two default costumes as the previous game. He also gains recolored versions of his Player 1 and Player 2 outfits, respectively.

Player 1 Outfit:
Paul's Player 1 outfit is a recolor of his Player 1 outfit from Tekken 3. His judo uniform is now black instead of red while his belt and logos are changed to red, and he now wears white foot wraps, but he retains his black gloves.

Player 2 outfit:

Player 3 outfit:
The sleeves of Paul's biker jacket are now rolled down to the length they were in Tekken. However, his biker leathers went from black to blue, and are worn without a white t-shirt underneath, like in Tekken and Tekken 2.

Player 4 outfit:

Tekken 4[]

Player 1 outfit:
Paul's classic red judo uniform is removed; his new Player 1 outfit consists of a white T-shirt with a long sleeved red gi uniform jacket thrown off and tied around his waist, red gi uniform pants with logos on them and black boots with orange flame designs on them. He retains the black handguards and belt of his previous Player 1 outfits.

Player 2 outfit:
His new P2 outfit consists of a black t-shirt with a flaming skull design on the back, similar to his past Player 2 outfits, a wristwatch on his left hand, blue jeans and black shoes, while his hair is down instead of in the flat top style. This is the first and the only outfit where Paul wears jeans and a T-shirt, and does not have his trademark hairstyle and gloves.

Ending:
In his ending, Paul has a ponytail, a red tuxedo jacket, a black dress shirt, orange sunglasses, red dress pants and black dress shoes.

Tekken 5/Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection[]

Player 1 outfit:
Same as his Player 1 outfit from the earlier games (except for Tekken 4), but there are now white wraps around of his wrists and his red gi is even more tattered and torn than it was before.

In Dark Resurrection, his Player 1 outfit receives minor palette swaps with his red gi being white and his black hand guards being light blue and is identical to Hwooarang's primary outfit from Tekken 3, minus the white headband.

Player 2 outfit:
His Player 2 outfit goes back to the way it was in Tekken 3. However, his boots are now grey and red and his shoulder pads are much larger.

In Dark Resurrection, his Player 2 outfit receives minor palette swap changes with his black biker suit being blue and his leather boots being brown.

Tekken 6/Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion[]

Paul's default outfits from Tekken 5 make a return.

Player 1 outfit:

Street Fighter X Tekken[]

Player 1 outfit:

Swap Costume:
Paul's Swap Costume is based on Rufus, and his outfit is similar to his previous biker outfit in both Tekken and Tekken 2 but recolored in yellow and black.

He wears a yellow and black biker jumpsuit with a brown side belt and pouch and black shoes. He wears sunglasses and black fingerless gloves while wearing this outfit.

Alternate Costume:
Paul's alternate costume is a Pirate costume; he wears a red pirate jacket with a black side belt, brown pants with a black belt around his waist and black pirate boots. He now wears a black pirate hat and matching black pirate gloves.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2[]

Like every other character, Paul returns with two outfits that are identical to each other.

Player 1 outfit:

Player 2 outfit:
His Player 2 outfit shows the aforementioned red judo uniform changing to dark blue.

  • Paul's swimsuit DLC consists of a fundoshi with matching tabi, available in a choice of three colors - white, black or red.

Tekken 7/Tekken 7: Fated Retribution[]

Player 1 outfit:
For Tekken 7: Fated Retribution Paul wears a new primary outfit. His black biker jacket has the right sleeve cut off and the left sleeve has red and gray linings with long black rider gloves. The collar of his rider jacket is colored like a United States flag and there is a black pauldron on his right shoulder. Underneath his jacket, he wears a dark red sleeveless muscle shirt, black rider pants, matching kneepads with red and white stripes on the right knee and dark blue with four star decorations on the left knee and black boots. On his right wrist, he wears a single fingerless glove along with a matching wristband. He also gains a full beard while wearing the outfit.

Player 2 outfit:
Paul's Player 2 outfit is a palette swap of his Player 1 outfit. The leather of his jacket, boots, and pants is now blue, his gloves, wrist guards, kneepad, and the tongues of his boots are now red, and his pauldron is now silver.

Default 3 outfit:

  • Paul's Default 3 outfit was used as his primary outfit before the home release of Tekken 7.

Default 4 outfit:

Aside from his four default outfits, Paul has 8 preset outfits that can be chosen or made via the customization screen, and a gold metallic outfit that is unlocked only by purchasing Tekken 7's Season Pass 1 DLC.

Tekken (Mobile)[]

Player 1 outfit:

  • His new outfit is a cowboy-inspired outfit with a red and white scarf, which reprises his hairstyle from his Player 2 outfit in Tekken 4. He wears a brown cowboy vest with dark brown embroidery with a white long sleeve button shirt, black pants with a red knife holster, a brown belt around the waist and brown cowboy boots.

Tekken 8[]

Paul is seen for the first time with a default hairstyle that is worn down rather than gelled high. His hair is instead parted on the right side, reaching about chin-length at its longest.

Player 1 outfit:
Paul wears a brown leather jacket with undertones of green and yellow that has spiked studs on the shoulders, three star shaped studs on the lapels, zippers along the front and at the end of each sleeve, and a belt at the hem. The jacket has multiple patches on the arms and a silver skull charm hanging from the zipper on the left side of his chest. Paul has a rope looped around his right shoulder, and wears black, fingerless leather gloves. Underneath his jacket, Paul wears a faded burgundy shirt with visible tears and holes along the chest and at the hem. He also wears a black and gray checkered shemagh scarf around his neck. With this outfit, Paul wears faded and slightly torn blue jeans with a patch on the outer side of his left leg bearing the stars from the American flag, black kneepads with black straps, and calf-length black leather boots. On his right hip Paul has a brown leather pouch, strapped to his leg with a harness which also wraps around his waist. On his left upper thigh Paul also has black studded leather straps.

When he executes his Rage Art, the right sleeve of his leather jacket will tear away, leaving his right arm sleeveless.

Player 2 outfit:
Paul's Player 2 outfit is a pallette swap of his Player 1 outfit. His jacket is now red, his jeans are black, and his shirt is a dull, green-gray color.

Default 3 outfit:
Paul's third outfit is a blue suit with pink grid-patterned lines along the coat and pants. The suit jacket is worn over a white button up with a red tie, and the outfit is accessorized with a red pocket square, aviator sunglasses, and a gold watch on his left wrist. With this outfit, he wears brown dress shoes with black soles.

Default 4 outfit:
As with all returning characters, Paul's Tekken 7 Player 1 outfit returns as his fourth outfit.

Default 5 outfit:
Paul's fifth outfit is his red judo gi which has made a return in some form in every game Paul has appeared in. Unlike previous appearances, his belt now has three gold bars on the right side to denote his rank.
