Power Stance (三戦立ち Sansen Dachi?, lit. "Three Battles Stance") is a defensive move which grants Ki Power. It is used by Jin Kazama from Tekken 4 onwards to replace his Force.
In Tekken 4 and Tekken 5, Jin needs to use Power Stance in order to enter and Lingering Soul Omen. In Tekken Tag Tournament 2, he needs it to enter Omen, and the move is also used to initiate Jin's Great Combo with Asuka Kazama.
Description[]
Jin steps his left leg forward into sansen dachi - a high horse stance in which feet are shoulder-width apart, with toes pointing inwards. As he does so, he clenches his stomach and pushes his fists out into a double inside block. The move is used to gather strength to the core, as illustrated by the ki ignition in Jin's fists.
Usage[]
Depending on the game, if the foe is near enough Jin as he executes this move, they may become staggered, with no damage.
The effects of this stance are as follows; Jin will repel any attacks or grabs during the time his hands begin glowing and until the end of the move animation (any repelled attacks/grabs inflict minute damage to the attacker). After the move animation has ended, Jin will have ki for roughly two seconds unless he makes contact with the opponent before the animation's end.
In Tekken 7, Power Stance's frames on hit are now dependent on the distance from the opponent and the timing when the opponent makes contact. Because of this, stopping an opponent towards the end of the animation can allow Jin to follow-up for guaranteed attacks. In Tekken 8, the attack is now blockable, but causes a noticeable block stun to the opponent.
By pressing f, f, b+2+4 during the animation, Jin can perform an Attack Reversal. This was the only secret Omen move of Jin's to still remain in Tekken 6.
In Tekken 8 Power Stance is replaced with Awakened Power Stance during Heat.
