This is a list of Rage Arts from Tekken 8.
Note: Angel Jin and True Devil Kazuya's Rage Arts can only be seen in their boss fights in Character Episodes and The Dark Awakens, with the latter scenarios only occurring in scripted cutscenes. As a result, they are unnamed.
- Alisa Bosconovitch - "Radiant Pegasus Bomb (?)"
- Alisa knocks the opponent into the air with an uppercut using her chainsaw. She then flies upwards after the opponent, and knocks them back to the ground with a strike using both of her chainsaws. Her head detaches from her neck, as her main body spins in midair. Using the momentum from the spin, she kicks her head with extreme force, sending it flying into the opponent and creating a big explosion.
- Angel Jin spreads his wings and creates a large magic circle above him that summons several chains. After knocking the opponent back with this attack, the screen fades to white. The light fades away seconds later, revealing the interior of a massive cathedral. Angel Jin summons more chains to bind the opponent, and follows up with a punch that causes large crystals to erupt from behind the opponent and sever the chains. He then forms energy blades in both his hands, and after slashing the opponent with each blade, performs a powerful cross slash with both blades, causing a massive explosion that shatters the crystal.
- Anna Williams - "Some Like It Rough! (サム・ライク・イット・ラフ!?)"
- Anna uses her bazooka to strike the opponent. As they are knocked down, the screen goes black. It fades in once again on the opponent before a bright light cuts on, aimed at the opponent. The camera cuts back to Anna with her bazooka slung over her shoulders in front of what appears to be a prison compound, her helicopter hovering above her. The helicopter begins shooting at the opponent's feet, then Anna fires a bazooka at the opponent as the helicopter simultaneously fires missiles at them. On impact, the missiles explode, and the camera cuts back to Anna standing triumphantly with her bazooka resting at her side.
- Armor King - "Dark Supernova (悪の華?)"
- Armor King strikes the opponent with a flaming downward punch. He then expels green mist from his mask that briefly obscures the screen. When the screen clears, both Armor King and his opponent are transported to a wrestling ring. Armor King proceeds to rush towards the opponent, grabbing them and pushing them into the ropes. Engulfed in flames, both Armor King and the opponent leap high into the air, causing a dark ring in the shape of the Sun to form. Armor King then positions the opponent in midair, dives back down through the dark ring and delivers a Burning Hammer. The impact causes the entire ring to become crumpled. Armor King then strikes a triumphant pose as several pillars of flame erupt in the background.
- Asuka Kazama - "Naniwa Peacemaker Knuckle (ナニワ仲裁屋ナックル?)"
- Asuka Bounds the opponent with a powerful elbow strike, which she follows up with a high right kick that launches the opponent further into the air. Asuka then rears back for a powerful left punch that catches the opponent out of the air before she slams them into the ground a distance away, tripping slightly with the force of the punch as she does. This Rage Art is unique in that it can be charged.
- Azucena Ortiz - "Alegría del Café (ラ・アレグリア・デル・カフェ?)"
- Azucena knocks back her opponent with an uppercut. As they try to recover, Azucena suddenly appears close to them, and proceeds to land a combo consisting of a hook, a backhanded punch, and a jumping kick. As the opponent recovers, Azucena walks up to them and flicks their forehead with enough force to knock them backwards. If this Rage Art results in a K.O., a special end scene plays with Azucena pulling out a cup of coffee and advertising her family's coffee brand with a special screen that shows the company logo and slogan. Can also be used during the Libertador stance.
- Bryan Fury - "Total Vandalization (?)"
- Bryan launches his opponent with a Stomach Blow, juggling them as they are airborne with a version of his Gatling Rush, then performing a Left Upper that knocks his opponent a distance away. As his weakened opponent is slowly standing up, the screen changes to Bryan's perspective; a green display with a targeting apparatus at the center. The circle at the center of this display locks onto the opponent, and Bryan's eye turns from blue to red to indicate a locked target. Bryan then dashes towards his opponent and performs a powerful Mach Breaker.
- Claudio Serafino - "La Luce Di Sirio (?)"
- Claudio manifests a magic circle on the ground that launches the opponent into the air. He then crosses his arms and manifests magic energy, with yet more magic circles forming in the air behind him. As the opponent falls back down, Claudio catches them in a magical construct resembling a bow with his left arm, and draws an arrow of light with his right arm. He then releases the arrow, which pierces and launches the opponent away. Starburst is activated at the end.
- Clive Rosfield - "Hellfire (地獄の火炎?)"
- Clive activates his Limit Break and creates a column of flames that knocks the opponent back. The screen flashes white before revealing a setting resembling a hallway. Clive rushes towards the stunned opponent, attacking with a flaming swipe with his left hand, launches them upwards with a rising flaming slash, and then knocks them back to the ground with another slash. He uses Phoenix Shift to appear to the grounded opponent, and launches them into the air again with another column of flames. As the opponent is in the air, Clive summons Ifrit, who then catches them from the air. Flames gather in the hand that the opponent is captured in before Ifrit violently slams them in the ground, resulting in a massive explosion. If this Rage Art results in a K.O. on match point, a special victory animation plays where Clive, still in his Limit Break form, twirls his sword and plants the blade on the ground as the opponent falls from the sky behind him. In addition, a special fanfare plays during the result screen.
- Devil Jin flies up and rushes towards with downward claw attack that bounces his opponent off the ground. After grabbing and throwing the airborne opponent, Devil Jin summons multiple chains from the floor as the screen darkens. The darkness fades away seconds later, revealing a dark dimension filled with rocks and chains where the opponent is bound by chains against a rock in front of Devil Jin. Devil Jin then forms a large energy blade from his right hand and slashes his opponent, creating an explosion while also severing the chains. In Chapter 13 of Story Mode, as well as during the third battle of Chapter 12, the dark dimension is replaced with a much brighter, cloudy sky, the screen brightens to a light gray during the transition, and the energy blade and chains are a bright yellow rather than a dark red. Also during the super flash, Devil Jin's body (barring his left hand) emits a similar bright yellow aura.
- Eddy Gordo - "Enchente de Axé (インシェンチ・ジ・アシェー?)"
- Eddy attacks with a downwards-arching kick that knocks the opponent back. He then begins spinning, whipping up a wind that briefly covers the screen. When the wind clears, the setting changes to a plains-like setting with several spirit-like figures forming a roda around Eddy and his opponent. Eddy then strikes the opponent with 3 spinning kicks, launching them in the air. Then he spins and uses the momentum to perform a final, rising double-legged kick. Can also be used during Negativa.
- Emilie de Rochefort - "La Vie en Rose fortississimo (?)"
- Lili stuns the opponent with a slap that causes them to stumble away, then proceeds towards them. Upon reaching them, Lili forces them into the croisé ballet pose, strikes their midsection with her free hand, and then strikes the same spot with her right knee. Afterwards, Lili moves in front of the opponent, pulls them in front of her, and launches them away with a backflipping kick.
- Fahkumram performs a spinning elbow strike which knocks the opponent down and away. As the opponent is still grounded, he slowly approaches them, his body surrounded by a red aura and his eyes and lightning scars glowing red. The screen briefly flashes during his advance, causing the scene to shift into a rocky landscape. He then stomps the ground and sends a shockwave of energy out that causes destroyed portions of the floor to fly off in multiple directions. He crouches to charge up for a powerful running roundhouse kick with his left leg that sends the opponent flying back into the ground, where they disappear into the resulting debris from the crater created by their impact.
- Feng stuns the opponent with a double palm thrust, followed by two alternating elbow strikes and a stomp that launches them high into the air. Feng then raises his hands together and focuses as a gold aura builds around him. He then waves his arms in a circular motion as a golden dragon flies around him, and performs an upward palm strike on the falling opponent, blasting them upward and creating a large column of golden light.
- Heihachi Mishima - "Mishima Style Ultimate Technique - Tempest Demon God Fist (三島流奥義・鬼神風雷拳?)"
- Heihachi strikes the opponent with a powerful backfist that sends them reeling backwards. He strikes a pose, emanating electricity and causing sharp rocks to protrude from the ground. The screen briefly darkens before revealing a rocky landscape with a dark and cloudy sky. Heihachi approaches the opponent, then raises his fist to the sky. A lightning bolt strikes his fist, embuing it with electricity. He then delivers a powerful electric punch to the opponent, causing the rocks behind them to break apart and scatter. If this Rage Art results in a K.O., a special end scene plays with Heihachi striking a Buddhist praying pose with his left hand straightened and facing upward and his right fist positioned at his side.
- Hwoarang performs a jumping roundhouse kick, followed by 3 kicks in quick succession until launching his opponent with another kick. Hwoarang leaps up and unleashes multiple spinning kicks to the opponent then knocks the airborne opponent to the ground with a powerful heel drop. Can also be used during Right Stance, Left Flamingo, and Right Flamingo.
- Jack pumps his left fist like a piston, then rears back and punches his opponent to the ground. An explosive in his fist sends the opponent flying into the air and as they land, Jack summons a large cannon that flies in to allow him to mount it to his shoulder. As his opponent stands, Jack charges the cannon and shoots a blue energy beam that engulfs the opponent in a large explosion which also causes Jack to fly backwards with the force of it.
- Jin Kazama - "Polar Demon Gouge (極星魔人衝?)"
- Jin charges up and performs a right-handed Thrusting Uppercut. Once the opponent is airborne, Jin summons his devil power, causing his third eye and black markings to appear on his face along with a single wing that vanishes in a red cloud of energy. Jin then dashes forward into a right punch that phases through the falling opponent. If this Rage Art results in a K.O., a special end scene plays with Jin catching a single black feather in his right hand. In Story Mode if he is not using his Devil powers, Jin replaces the dashing right punch with a powerful Electric Wind Hook Fist, followed by a Leaping Side Kick to the gut.
- Jun Kazama - "Amatsu Izanami (天津伊邪那美?)"
- Jun crumples her opponent with a heavy blow before the screen fades out. The screen fades back in to an area of pure white with colorful fractals like glass shards surrounding the opponent. Jun appears from this white void approaching the opponent, touching their chest and creating a massive aura blast seemingly meant to "purify" the opponent. If this Rage Art results in a K.O., a special end scene plays with a light that transforms into a dove lands on Jun's finger.
- Kazuya Mishima - "Demonic Catastrophe (デモニックカタストロフィ?)"
- Kazuya transforms into his devil form and performs a straight right punch similar to his Soul Thrust to knock the opponent a small distance away. He then fires a laser at the ground, aiming it towards the opponent and launching them into the air. He jumps above his airborne opponent to smash them to the ground with an aerial double axe handle, and as the opponent bounces off the ground, Kazuya comes down in a powerful, electrically-charged diving axe kick which causes a large explosion. If this Rage Art results in a K.O., a special end scene plays in which Kazuya, back in his human form, kicks his downed opponent.
- King launches the opponent upward with a downwards punch, and then proceeds to catch them in a Torture Rack position. After briefly turning his head towards the screen, he proceeds to grab and toss the opponent into the air by their legs. King then runs and leaps towards the opponent, grabs them and positions them whilst midair, and then lands back down to the ground with them in a submission hold. Fireworks shoot up in the back as he poses at the screen.
- Kuma launches the opponent to the air using his salmon to perform a golf swing. The salmon then squirms a bit in his paws before jumping into the air, revealing to be cybernetic as it transforms into a large fish missile. It then aims and flies towards the airborne opponent, exploding shortly afterward.
- Lars Alexandersson - "Zeus Unlimited (?)"
- Lars summons electricity in his left hand before performing his Lightning Thrust attack, knocking the opponent a distance away. Lars then rushes forward and becomes a ball of electricity, going through the opponent and launching them into the air to strike them three more times while moving in the shape of an infinity symbol. Lars then reappears above the opponent, charges his right hand with electricity, and smashes the opponent into the ground. He slides out of the resulting cloud of smoke and debris and the opponent is struck by lightning behind him, creating an explosion of light.
- Lee Chaolan - "The Marvelous Rose (?)"
- Lee performs a right straight gut punch, followed by three kicks, with the third kick launching them away. He then pulls out and tosses a Combot grenade towards the midair opponent. As the thrown grenade touches the opponent's chest and explodes, creating a rose-shaped explosion, Lee turns away at the same time, and does both thumbs up and wink his eye with a smile while saying "Marvelous!", before turning around facing to his opponent.
- Leo Kliesen - "Transcendent Blow (?)"
- Leo performs a powerful left-handed strike similar to their Shang Bu Zhuang Quan, knocking the opponent away. Leo then uses a grappling hook to swing about the stage and use the momentum for a right flying kick, and then finishes with a powerful shoulder strike.
- Leroy Smith - "Dark Dragon Commandment ( 打戒連環黒龍勁?)"
- Leroy elbows his opponent and follows up with a barrage of punches. He then grabs his opponent by the throat and sweeps their leg from under them to set them off balance before punching and stomping them once to ground them. As the opponent stands again, Leroy performs his one-inch punch with his left hand, causing a large phantom of a dragon to fly around and past his opponent.
- Lidia Sobieska - "Scarlet Valor: Martial Devotion (赤誠・尽忠演舞?)"
- Lidia performs a straight punch that knocks the opponent away. As the opponent catches themself and looks up, the stage goes entirely white. The camera pans to Lidia in a seiza, and the spirit of what appears to be a red eagle flies over and behind her. Lidia stands as the bird flies into the camera, performing attacks which are accentuated by a red ki and words written against the white background. The first part is a dash punch, which ends in her Pouncing Tiger, Stalking Wolf stance with the word "Ludzie" ("people") in the background; the second part is two quick attacks from an elbow to a straight punch, after which Lidia turns around to perform a stance with the word "Pokój" ("peace") in the background; the final attack is a powerful kick, with the word "Uczciwość" ("honesty") in the background.
- Ling Xiaoyu - "Wang's Celestial Epic (?)"
- Xiaoyu executes a powerful double-handed strike to the opponent's gut to stun them, then follows the stun with several attacks on multiple portions of the opponent's torso, circling around the opponent as she lands each. This ends with a kick to the gut before Xiaoyu performs another, powerful double-handed strike, knocking the opponent away as she separates her hands. Can also be used during Phoenix stance.
- Marshall Law - "Fate of the Dragon (フェイト・オブ・ザ・ドラゴン?)"
- Marshall performs a quick right punch similar to his Charge Power Punch to stun his opponent. He then unsheathes his two nunchakus, swinging them into the opponent multiple times followed by a right side kick and a final spinning overhead strike with his right nunchaku. Once the opponent is down, Marshall performs a powerful stomp on them. If this Rage Art results in a K.O., a special end scene plays with Law continuing to stand on his opponent and maintaining his kiai, raising his shaking fist, and looking into the camera.
- Miary Zo - "Hazon'n Andriamanitry ny Hay-ady (アズン・アンジアマニチア・ヤディ Azun anjiamanichia yadi?, The Divine Tree of the War God)"
- Miary summons her spear and strikes the opponent with it, sending them upwards. She then plunges the spear into the ground, summoning a large snake that erupts from the ground and carries the opponent upwards. Miary runs up the snake, the screen briefly flashing white before transitioning to high into the sky with the island of Madagascar visible below. Riding atop the snake's head, Miary circles around the opponent, who is in freefall. The snake disappears as she summons her spear again, swings herself into a crouching position atop the spear, and then jumps off of it towards the opponent to land an uppercut that launches them away. Miary then summons her snakes to stretch out and grab onto the opponent and fling them downwards. She then summons her spear, a pair of wings, a horn, and a tail, stands atop her spear, and dives towards the opponent with great speed. The spear impales the opponent's chest, and both them and Miary plummet towards the ground, resulting in a massive explosion shaped like the traveler's palm plant.
- Nina Williams - "Death by Degrees (?)"
- Nina performs a spinning right backhand strike to stun her opponent and knock them away. She then runs up to the opponent and launches herself off of them, spinning midair behind them to aim her dual pistols and shoot the opponent multiple times in the back. The opponent turns back to her as she lands, and Nina performs a double-handed strike to the opponent's chest, causing them to stumble backwards before their chest explodes in swirling rays of light.
- Panda knocks the opponent into the air with a double upwards palm thrust. She then rolls forward and lands on her back underneath the opponent as they fall back down. Panda then spins the opponent at great speed with all of her limbs before knocking them away with her front paws. She turns to wave at the camera as they land back to the ground, soon turning around as they start to roll towards her due to the built-up speed from the spinning. As they approach, Panda performs a powerful palm thrust to knock them away, and then does a pose at the end.
- Paul Phoenix - "Big Bang Phoenix Smasher (ビッグバン崩拳?)"
- Paul performs a right-handed straight punch, similar to the final hit of his Phoenix Bone Breaker string, to stun his opponent. He then grounds himself in a horse stance, with the screen pausing to frame him against a background of space with the Earth in view, words reading "Number 1 in the Universe" in both Japanese and English behind him. Paul then rears back and clenches his fist, flexing his arm and causing the sleeve of his jacket to tear to shreds. He charges up a powerful Burning Fist which knocks the opponent away. The damage done to Paul's sleeve will stay for any remaining rounds. If this Rage Art results in a K.O., a special end scene plays with Paul raising his right arm to flex his bicep. The costume damage part only applies to his new default costume only, but does not apply in the story mode.
- Raven knocks his opponent away with a backhanded strike, and plants a magic-infused arm on the ground, causing the screen to briefly darken. A magic symbol appears in the air above the opponent, and Raven summons shadow clones from each of the 9 white spots of the symbol. The shadow clones rush the opponent from multiple sides, after which Raven pierces through the opponent with a kick that creates a cross-shaped burst.
- Reina stuns her opponent with an upwards palm strike, then proceeds to follow up with a kick and a backhanded knifehand strike before jumping up to stomp them into the ground. The screen then briefly darkens, revealing a rocky landscape with a purple sky and moon in the background. With the opponent pinned under her foot, Reina then strikes them with an electrically-charged knifehand strike, creating an explosion which also creates a black aura with glowing red eyes. If this Rage Art results in a K.O., a special end scene plays with Reina removing her hand from her opponent while getting up, shaking off some electric sparks and glaring at the camera.
- Sergei Dragunov - "White Angel of Death (?)"
- Dragunov strikes with a left uppercut, followed by a right kick that knocks the opponent upward, and then a right punch that knocks them back into the ground. The screen momentarily darkens, with the camera switching to a first-person perspective from the opponent's point to view, panning up Dragunov amidst what appears to be a blizzard. He charges up and then unleashes a powerful double-axe handle, which causes the screen to ice over and shatter.
- Shaheen swipes upward with right swipe to knock the opponent to the ground. He then jumps on top of the opponent, sliding a bit of a distance before launching himself and the opponent upward. While in the air, Shaheen positions himself to deliver a powerful dive kick that goes through his opponent.
- Steve strikes with a right hook, then launches his opponent into the air with a left uppercut and knocks them back to the ground with a downwards right hook. As they get up, Steve then hits them with 5 quick alternating jabs, follows up with four hits of Endless Roll, then ends with a powerful Body Blow upper that creates a shockwave.
- Victor Chevalier - "Coup de Chevalier (クー・ド・シュヴァリエ?)"
- Victor strikes with a downwards knife strike, then follows up with 3 additional knife strikes with the 3rd knocking the opponent away. He then teleports a distance away from the opponent and unsheathes his sword, which has built up energy. Victor then proceeds to rush forward with great speed and slashes through the opponent, which causes an explosion that launches them shortly afterward.
- Yoshimitsu - "Trailokya Pilgrimage (?)"
- Yoshimitsu strikes the opponent with a sword thrust. While they are stunned, he runs his finger along his sword's blade, causing the screen to briefly darken and reappear as a sepia-toned bamboo forest. The opponent is then attacked 6 times from multiple sides by an unseen Yoshimitsu, with only the slashes being visible. Yoshimitsu then reappears behind the opponent, and strikes through them with a final slash.
- Zafina strikes the opponent with an upward strike of her transformed hand, lifting them off the ground as crystals begin to protrude from the ground around her and the screen briefly darkening. The darkness fades, revealing a cave that appears to be made entirely of purple crystal. A giant clawed hand that resembles that of Azazel breaks through the cave wall, reaching toward the opponent, who is being suspended in the air by purple energy. Zafina clenches her transformed hand into a fist, which causes the giant hand to do the same, catching the opponent in its grasp. Shortly afterward, energy builds up in the giant fist and then creates a bright explosion.
Trivia[]
- Jin's Rage Art was first shown in the teaser trailer when Tekken 8 was first announced.
- Unlike in Tekken 7, the background music will not pause during Rage Arts in Tekken 8.
- The ender of Nina's Rage Art may be a reference to the "Focus Kill" special moves used to defeat enemies in her spin-off game, Death by Degrees. Her Rage Art is also named after said game.
- Prior to his character gameplay reveal, Paul's Rage Art did not cause a permanent costume break on his right sleeve.
- Costume breaks have also been a staple of the Soulcalibur series since Soulcalibur IV. Paul and Heihachi's Costume breaks in particular could be inspired by the character-specific costume breaks present in Soulcalibur VI, which occur when the character first utilizes their Soul Charge or Soul Attack.
- The aura seen in Reina's Rage Art either resembles her father, Heihachi Mishima, or perhaps Reina in her Devil form.
- For multiple characters, if a Rage Art results in a K.O., it will trigger a special end scene before the next round starts, or before the character's victory pose, similar to the Critical Edge system from Soulcalibur VI. This was first shown during a Teaser Trailer featuring Jin, and during Marshall's gameplay trailer prior to Alpha testing during EVO Japan 2023.[1][2]
- Kazuya's Rage Art K.O. animation will not play if Jun is his opponent.
- Marshall's Rage Art is a homage to two Bruce Lee's The Dragon movies: Way of the Dragon (double nunchakus) and Enter the Dragon (stomp ender).
- Lars' Rage Art is heavily inspired by his Ultimate Jutsu in Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2.
- The end of Steve's Rage Art attack has floor-based projectile effect similar to Geese Howard's Reppuken.
- Prior to the final chapter of "Unforgettable Echoes", Heihachi used his previous Rage Art from Tekken 7, while the shadow of his former self uses his Ascended form's Rage Art.
- Reina also uses Heihachi's normal Rage Art from Tekken 7 in the first round of Chapter 3.
- During the private alpha tests for Tekken 8, it was reported by players that the Rage Art was actually much safer, being as low as possibly -13 on block [3]. This change was reverted by the time of launch, and using a throw to punish a Rage Art also makes that throw unbreakable.
- In the 2.03 patch, all normal Rage Arts were further nerfed to be -18 on block, allowing all characters to launch them.
- Before the 2.03 patch, a fully charged Rage Art from Asuka was actually +3 with massive pushback but no tracking, resulting in a mixup situation; the patch nerfed it to be -13 on block instead with zero pushback.
- Against certain characters, the voice lines for each Rage Art may change (e.g. Nina vs. Anna, multiple characters vs. Heihachi, etc.).
- Devil Jin's Rage Art was subject to a bug against Heihachi upon his release where his Rage Art would not only not stop the timer, but also not remove any recoverable health; it was fixed in the 1.09.01 patch.
- Rage Arts are disabled when fighting against Azazel, and replaced by Rage Burst in both Tekken Ball mode, and in a section of Chapter 10 of Tekken 8's Story Mode.
- Armor King's Rage Art is listed as "Flower of Evil" (悪の華 (あくのはな) Aku no hana (aku no Hana)?) rather than "Dark Supernova" in the Japanese translation of his Move List.[4]
