Biography[]
SPOILERS WARNING This article/section contains spoilers for recent/new content! Read at your own risk! |
Reina is a high school student at Mishima Polytechnical School.[6] She understands Heihachi Mishima to be her father.[7]
By some means, Reina acquired confidential information regarding G Corporation's plans to occupy New York City. She leaked this information to Lidia Sobieska who, in turn, alerted her allies in Yggdrasil. Lidia later met with Reina, who put her on the trail of the Tekken Monks, an organization who had been thwarting attempts to locate the missing Heihachi Mishima.
Reina entered the King of Iron Fist Tournament 8’s Asia Preliminaries. In the arena, she met Jin Kazama, Heihachi’s grandson, and introduced herself to him. Jin ignored her, but they were matched against one another in the semifinals. Reina knew that the Mishima Style Fighting Karate she used in battle had contributed to the awakening of Jin’s devil powers at Heihachi's hands in the past. During their fight, Jin’s powers activated, and Reina concluded that the ‘threat of death’ was key to unlocking a devil’s power. She then forfeited the match, having seen all she needed to. Later, she approached Jin in the arena again, telling him she wanted to help take down Kazuya Mishima. Jin was suspicious of her intentions, given her fighting style, but she brushed his concerns off.[8]
Reina accompanied Jin back to Yggdrasil’s base. She was present at a meeting where Niklas Kliesen divulged additional information about the nature of the Devil Gene.[9]
Reina joined Yggdrasil and the United Nations’ forces in storming the coliseum where the next round of the King of Iron Fist Tournament was being held. She confronted Kazuya in his True Devil Form in single combat. Though she was ultimately defeated by him, she proved resilient enough to survive the encounter despite being hit with one of his laser attacks.[10]
Reina returned to Yggdrasil’s base and accompanied them to Yakushima to fight Kazuya Mishima’s G Corporation forces. During this battle, Reina met Nina Williams, the background of whom she was aware of. The two fought, and Nina recognized that Reina was connected to the Mishimas. Reina asked Nina to work for her; Nina replied that she would not be opposed to it, but only after she had finished her vacation. Devil Kazuya returned to the battlefield in order to clear out the fighting forces, firing lasers indiscriminately and wiping out swathes of soldiers. Reina purposefully stood in the path of a large laser, arms outspread, intending on activating her own devil powers by putting herself at risk of death. She awoke on the battlefield some time later with bright red irises.[11] She later rose amidst the rubble and assumed her devil form.[7]
Personality[]
Reina exudes a charismatic sense of evil, reflecting her character’s duality in both personality and fighting style.[12] When interacting with other people, Reina maintains a friendly demeanor, but drops the facade when facing off against other family members of the Mishima bloodline, namely Kazuya Mishima. However, like other members of the Mishima family, Reina has inherited a self-confident and arrogant personality.
Appearance[]
Reina is a young woman with a petite build. Her hair is cut in a short, untidy bob, with purple tips that fade into her natural black. Her primary outfit is sporty with an emphasis on style as well as practicality.

Official Website Profile (English)
Meet Reina, the mysterious fighter who uses lightning-quick moves to overwhelm anyone who dares face her. Other than the fact she's a student of the Mishima Polytechnical School, everything else about her is shrouded in mystery.[6]
Character Episode Prologue
Reina, the secret daughter of Heihachi Mishima, attended Mishima Polytechnical School.
She loved and respected her father, whom she also saw as a role model. But Heihachi vanished after his defeat by Kazuya Mishima.
The now-headless Mishima Zaibatsu put on a new The King of Iron Fist Tournament in order to choose a new head of the organization.
Reina entered the tournament to take over the Mishima Zaibatsu, and carry on her father's legacy.
"I promise you, Father. I’ll make the Mishima Zaibatsu mine."
Ending Description
Reina sits in a throne inside of a dojo, with Jin and Victor standing at her sides massaging her hands. Kuma stands off to her right side, arms crossed, acting as a bodyguard, and lines of Yggdrasil stand at the perimeter of the dojo. Lars and Lee enter the dojo, escorting with them Kazuya, who is confined in chains wreathed in a blue flame. She halts the hand massage she is receiving, and Lars and Lee force Kazuya down to kneel in front of Reina.
Reina comments, "What a pathetic sight", and continues with "So that's the answer the world's shoved down our throats." In response to this, Kazuya becomes enraged and breaks free from his chains, slamming Lars and Lee's heads together before charging at Reina. He is stopped by Kuma, who uppercuts him, before Reina finishes with an axe kick.
As Kazuya looks up at her, Reina remarks: "You think you're all high and mighty!" before stomping on his back. She then says "Know your place, dog!", to which the others surrounding her stand at attention. Kicking Kazuya out of the way, Reina moves towards the large double doors at one side of the dojo. Lee and Lars pull the doors open for her, and she stands on the balcony outside with each of the others standing in formation behind her to point at the moon in the night sky.
Reina remarks that she will "be the one to build the world anew", then says "Heihachi, my father... Your legacy shall endure through the ages!". She and Kuma then begin laughing as the camera pans up to show the moon once more, with Heihachi's face vaguely visible on its surface.
The scene then cuts to a close-up of Reina with her eyes closed. It is revealed that she is still in the King of Iron Fist Arena, entering the final fight of the tournament. She says "Just kidding." before walking forward, where Kazuya is waiting for her in the ring, and remarking that he had "better put up a fight.". The movie fades out as the announcer says Kazuya's name.
Summary of In-Game Events
Reina first approaches Jin Kazama in the corridors of the arena as they are both participating in The King of Iron Fist Tournament currently being held by Kazuya Mishima. She introduces herself as a student of Mishima Polytechnical School, but Jin ignores her and continues to his match.
Reina and Jin eventually meet in the ring, and Reina utilizes Mishima Style Fighting Karate, musing to herself as Jin reacts to the style and her similarity to Heihachi Mishima by unlocking a small portion of his Devil ability. Reina feigns defeat, allowing Jin to win the match, and is later approached and questioned by Jin as to the source of her knowledge of Mishima-Ryu. She claims to have learned the techniques from the internet, and asks to join Jin in defeating Kazuya.
Reina is allowed to accompany Yggdrasil forces, having a yet-unknown ulterior motive for wishing to do so. She joins in on Yggdrasil and the United Nations' joint attack on the coliseum where the next matches of the tournament are occurring, and after Kazuya absorbs Azazel's power and becomes True Devil Kazuya, Reina remains alongside Victor Chevalier, Claudio Serafino, Lars Alexandersson, Alisa Bosconovitch, Hwoarang, and Lee Chaolan to hold him off and allow Jin to escape to Yakushima.
Reina and Kazuya are eventually able to battle isolated from the others, and Reina proves to be so resilient that Kazuya is momentarily surprised. He also recognizes her use of the Mishima style, but does not hesitate to try killing her still. She survives Kazuya's attack, and after he has fled, she continues along with Yggdrasil and United Nations forces to halt Kazuya's attack on Yakushima.
During this battle, Reina meets with Nina Williams, seeming to know her. After the two fight, Nina seems to understand Reina's origins, but before this is made clear, the weapon that Nina had been preparing arrives on the island to fight the Yggdrasil and United Nations soldiers. Reina asks Nina to work for her, to which Nina responds that she would not be opposed to it, but only after she has finished her vacation.
Devil Kazuya returns to the battlefield in order to clear out the fighting forces, firing lasers indiscriminately and wiping out swathes of soldiers. Reina stands in the path of the large laser, arms outspread, and is struck directly. She is later shown lying on the ground, injured, before her eyes open and reveal red irises.
After Jin and Kazuya's final fight, Reina is shown once more, rising from the rubble of Kazuya's attack. She swears on Heihachi's name to achieve her goals, before transforming into her own devil form.
Gameplay[]
Fighting Style[]
Reina's fighting style is a mixture of Taido and Mishima-style karate. She utilizes a special movement called Sentai to close the distance quickly and launch rushes, while Unsoku allows her to deliver powerful attacks with agile footwork, demonstrating a speedy and aggressive combat approach. In addition, Reina has somehow acquired techniques like Wind God Fist, Thunder God Fist and Spinning Demon, synonymous with the Mishima-style karate, and even exhibits a power fighter aspect, delivering powerful fast moves.[12]
