Stonehead, called Super Headbutt (超ぱちき Chō Pachiki?) in the Japanese version, is one of the signature throws of the Mishima Style Fighting Karate, available to all practitioners.
Roger, Alex, Kuma, Kuma II, and Panda have their own variant of this throw called Headbutt (ベアぱちき Bea Pachiki?, Bear Headbutt) in the Japanese version. Two variations of the Stonehead exist: Heihachi Mishima's Headbutt Carnival and the Omen Stonehead.
From Tekken 6 onwards, Stonehead will wallsplat an opponent. In Tekken Tag Tournament 2, all Stonehead users, including Kuma and Panda, have a special tag throw with each other and with users of Kazama Style Traditional Martial Arts. Additionally, both Stonehead and Headbutt by itself can be tag buffered.
In Tekken 8 the command was officially changed, however the original command was not removed except for Kuma II and Panda, so it is possible to use it to execute the move as well. Additionally, the throw now triggers wall-related stage effects.
Description[]
The user grabs the opponent by the neck with their left arm, raises their left knee and head, then bashes their head against the opponent's, knocking them to the ground.
Trivia[]
- Doctor Bosconovitch also has a move which is nearly identical to Stonehead, known as the Brain Shaker. The difference between the two is that the Brain Shaker has Doctor B. stagger backwards before falling over after executing the move.
- Heihachi also has a non-throw headbutt called the Chrome Dome.
- This throw has existed since the first game in the Tekken series. Only the Mishima Style Fighting Karate practitioners use the name Stonehead, although it was spelled Stone Head in the US and EU versions of Tekken 2.
- In Tekken 2, the Stonehead is an inescapable throw, yet the seemingly identical Headbutt performed by Kuma, Roger and Alex can be escaped.
- Kuma did not have the Headbutt in the arcade version of Tekken 2, despite having the move in both the arcade and PlayStation versions of Tekken.
- Starting with Tekken 3, Stonehead can be tech-rolled.
- In Tekken Tag Tournament, if the user is tagged in during Jun Kazama's Cherry Blossom, they will perform a unique Stonehead which causes the opponent to slide along the ground similar to Headbutt Carnival. This version cannot be escaped as it is an extension of the previous throw. Only Jin, Kazuya and Heihachi can perform this version.
- Despite not using the Mishima Karate, Lars Alexandersson has a move that looks similar to the Stonehead, known as the SHB.
- In Tekken 6, Heihachi's Item Move replaced this throw with Father's Love instead.
- In Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Kazuya Mishima's Item Move, Hammerhead, targets his version of the throw. This Item Move was later recycled for Tekken 7.
- Stonehead also appears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as Kazuya's down throw.
