All commands for the item moves are u/b+1+4 or u+1+4. Unlike in previous titles, only one Item Move can be equipped at a time. Character-exclusive Item Moves, Cinematic K.O. animations, and all projectiles outside of the Shotgun, have also been removed.

Trivia[]
- Before the Ringside Chair was available for all characters in Tekken 8, it was an exclusive item move for King in Tekken 7.
- Tekken 8 has the smallest selection of move items.
- All the blockable melee item moves will not charge up the Tekken Ball.
- Prior to Patch 1.06.01, the Shotgun sent a ball from Tekken Ball a large distance, identical to the properties of the other item moves. Because this could often be done overhead to push a ball out of the opponent's screen[1], the Shotgun was nerfed to only interrupt a ball's flight rather than push it back.
- Performing the Hibiscus Ukelele item move will restore 10 points of health to the player.
