Unlike Tekken, this game uses TPS controls for movement.
Combos:[]
A combo is a series of attacks chained together with canceling or inputted by pressing the right buttons. Each character has their own set, but here’s an example, one of Pierre’s combos.
Punch, Fireball, Cancel to barrage of fireballs, fast sword strike, change stance to Infernal Warrior, quick kick, cancel into explosion meteors.
As you can see, two attacks are canceled into others, while some chain just perfectly to other attacks or special attacks.
Special Attacks:[]
Special attacks are performed in an interesting way.
By pressing a direction or an input and pressing the special attack (SA) button with other buttons, you use a special attack.
Here’s one of Abel’s:
Rush Tackle: Forwards, SA.
Weapon Attacks:[]
Weapon Attacks are used by pressing the Weapon (W) button, and pressing a direction to input combos.
Guns shoot when these buttons are pressed, while melee attacks use some type of combo, adjustable by pressing other buttons rhythmically or also changing direction.
Sidestepping, Blocking, Dashing, and Parrying:[]
Blocking is used by pressing the block button (BB), and holding back. Parrying is inputted the same way, but by holding forwards. Dashing is used by holding the side directions and holding RT. If you dash while parrying or blocking, you sidestep, like in Tekken.
The Overdrive Gauge:[]
This gauge lets you use your rage drive, EX moves, a super move, and a Fatality.
