White Heron Dance (白鷺遊舞 Hakuroyuubu?) is a move used by Jun Kazama since Tekken 2, Asuka Kazama since Tekken 5, Jin Kazama from Tekken 3 to Tekken Tag Tournament, and Devil Jin from Tekken 5 until it was replaced in Tekken 8 by Three Ring Alaya.
The move was known as Three Ring Circus in Western versions of Tekken 2, however it reverted to its original Japanese name in Tekken Tag Tournament. In Jin and Devil Jin's move lists, it is keeps the name Three Ring Circus until Tekken 8.
Description[]
In Jun's version of the move, she performs a low right turning kick followed by a left then right backfist, finishing with a right roundhouse.
Jin's version is originally like Jun's, but since Tekken 6, he uses straight punches rather than backfists, and his second kick becomes an overhead that can catch crouching opponents off-guard. Jin and Devil Jin can also perform White Heron Dance by canceling the last hit of One Two Knee.
Asuka's version begins with the same first two hits, but she instead then follows them up with an overhead right punch and finishes with a right side kick.
Trivia[]
- In the first trailer for Tekken 5, Asuka originally had Jun's White Heron Dance. In the 2004 TGS trailer, she was given her reanimated version instead.
- In the beta footage of Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Jun originally had Asuka's White Heron Dance before being given the old version upon launch.[1]
- In Street Fighter X Tekken, Asuka can only execute the first stage of White Heron Dance.
- In Tekken 8's Story Mode, Jin gains a unique variation of the move where he can combine the first two hits of Three Ring Circus with Electric Wind God Fist and Thunder God Fist as the 3rd and 4th hits respectively. For some reason, he has access to this attack even when he reverts to using Kazama Style Traditional Martial Arts.
